Intake Process:

Within two days of the receipt of the referral packet, the Intake Coordinator will notify the referral source indicating if the child is appropriate for placement. If appropriate, a placement date is agreed upon. When a referral is accepted but no immediate openings are available, the child will be placed on a waiting list until the opening becomes available. The referral source will be contacted by the Intake Coordinator and be informed of the status. Pre-placement visits are not required, but may be conducted at the request of the referral source or Kemmerer Village to better assess the appropriateness of placement.

Please note: guardian must sign all necessary consents (provided by the Intake Coordinator) and file must be complete prior to placement date. If the child is on psychotropic medications a thirty-day supply is required.

An Intake Staffing will be held approximately twenty-eight days from the date of placement. AT this time, the child's progress is discussed with a team including his/her parents, counselor, school principal, caseworker(s), therapeutic recreation specialist, and child care counselors. A staffing will be held every three months thereafter.
